Current 30 Year Mortgage Rates

As expected mortgage rates moved higher this week. Over the past couple of weeks 10 year bond yields have risen from around 1.75% to 2.15% despite the Fed’s effort to lower long term yields.

Mortgage rates are indexed to bond yields so higher yields will mean higher mortgage rates this coming week.

 Fixed conforming 30 year mortgage rates are averaging 4.13%, an increase from last week’s average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.07%.

Current mortgage rates on 15 year conforming mortgages are also higher this week averaging 3.45%, an increase from last week’s average 15 year mortgage rate of 3.34%.

 

30 year mortgage rates unchanged today averaging 4.60%. 15 year mortgage rates currently are averaging 4.82%, an increase from last week’s average 15 year mortgage rate of 4.80%.
